The waterfall is actually 180 light fibers that were hand etched every three inches and carefully staggered and sorted into four groups of fibers.  These groups are illuminated by four halogen bulbs driven by a sequencer circuit.  The result is the illusion of water falling and a moving river, the speed and intensity is adjustable.  The lake is made of clear acrylic resin.

The landscape was constructed with paper towels and hydro cal (sort of like paper mache, but hard as concrete).  The mountain was made from over 200 plaster replicas of real rock fragments, each hand cut and fitted to the hydro cal base.
